The existing facility is a 70s brick building with a layout typical for its age. We were commissioned to upgrade and extend this existing facility to create a new care paradigm for this rural community. The extension is based on an extended small house model with a series of bedrooms clustered around community spaces. The central community space is oriented to the north and linked to a generous, private external courtyard. The triangular plan supports staff in the provision of care through reduced travel distances. Resident’s rooms are distributed around this triangular plan with each afforded a high level of privacy.  

 

Carparking is provided on a separate tier with associated landscaping. The area above this has been allocated for future expansion if required.
